The holidays are just around the corner – but before you get weighed down with the shopping lists, the jam-packed stores, the over-stuffed amazon cart, becoming best friends with the UPS delivery team, and not to mention getting lost in a pile of wrapping paper at the last minute – we thought we’d share some easier gift ideas this season.
Every holiday season, we get to thinking about what makes the perfect gift. And no matter what, the perfect gift tends to fall into two very important categories: it’s something they want or need AND it’s something they won’t get for themselves.
Sounds pretty ingenious, right? (cue: light bulb emoji)
So, before you think we’re stretching it with this gift guide – keep those two very important factors in mind before you head on back to Amazon’s crazy big list of some, dare we say it – not-so-perfect – gift ideas:
- Chocolate (and Other Healthy Snacks)
Okay – we get it. Holidays is pretty much synonymous with treats. And, to be honest, we’re pretty much a-okay with that. What stocking isn’t fully stuffed without at least a little bit of candy? This season, just look for some healthier options. Dark chocolate is a great option that will satisfy those sweet-tooth cravings we all get around the holidays. Chocolate covered nuts or raisins make for a great snack that isn’t overloaded with sugar. Mix in some granola and you’re well on your way to a winning season.
So, here’s the thing – a great toothbrush is hard to find (in most people’s bathrooms). But the good news is: they’re easy to gift! From our own experience, a great electric toothbrush for kids is Arm & Hammer or Oral-B (of course, if you’re willing to spend a little more, Sonicare also makes a kid’s toothbrush). It helps prep them for their dental visits based on the pulsations that they don’t get from a regular brush.
- Waterpik Ultra
A cool gadget AND a great way to keep your gums healthy? Be still our hearts. Waterpiks have recently been endorsed as an effective way to keep your gums in tip-top shape by the American Dental Association. We only recommend the Waterpik brand primarily and if you’re just getting someone started, try out the Ultra. But before your gift recipient gets too excited – we don’t view waterpiks as a replacement to flossing – but rather an effective way to add to your dental hygiene routine.
